For all you "believers" (Loch Ness, Big Foot, Chupacabra, et. al.)... For any such creatures to exist in modern day means they would have to evolve to their current form, which takes vast amounts of time. To have a surviving Nessie today, it means a population of hundreds or thousands had to exist up to recent times just to avoid inbreeding that would otherwise kill them off much earlier. This would yield AT LEAST ONE SINGLE PIECE OF FOSSIL EVIDENCE IN RECENT ROCK LAYERS! Alas, none, nada, zip.

Besides the legend of the Loch Ness monster started in 565 A.D. when a saintly monk seen it swimming to him. He hold up a cross and said, "Stop! Go down no further nor touch man!" After saying that Nessie swam away.
