Leading UFO Researchers Confirm Christian View

A general consensus has emerged among serious, science oriented UFO researchers that a certain small percentage of UFOs are real and are not figments of anyone's imagination. Furthermore, it is well known that many individuals claim to receive messages from alleged extra-terrestrials aboard UFOs.

The messages received from UFOs are generally occultic and steer people away from belief in Christian doctrine. Extra-terrestrials tend to undermine or attack the Christian faith.

Christian scholars and researchers have responded to this attack. In this article I will show that leading UFO researchers, many of whom are agnostic, have come around to generally support the Christian position on UFO phenomena.

After all the UFO sightings have been carefully analyzed and most explained away as natural phenomena the remaining UFOs, called residual UFOs (RUFOs) are regarded as real. They are real yet the leading researchers say they are not metallic spacecraft from distant stars or planets.

Astronomers who have devoted their careers to studying UFOs point to the fact that UFO flight patterns defy the laws of physics such as turning and accelerating so fast that any metal spaceship would disintegrate even if the metal spaceship was a solid iron ball. Furthermore, UFOs are seen in the atmosphere and not observed coming in from outer space.

UFO sightings have been reported throughout history. Ancient literature describes 'aerial people' and 'cloud ships' in terms that correspond to modern UFO sightings. In 1691 a Scottish minister wrote a book describing how Scottish farmers were harassed by paranormal entities similar to the UFOs of our time.

All of us are aware of the many UFO cults that have sprung up. There have even been television specials devoted to UFO phenomena.

Francis Crick, Nobel prize winning co-discoverer of DNA, calculated the probability of proteins forming by random collisions of atoms in the primordial ooze. Crick found it so remotely improbable that proteins and other building blocks of life could form by chance on earth that he decided that aliens from outer space must have brought life to earth.

Crick's theory that claims that aliens brought life to earth is called the "Guided Panspermia Theory" of life origins. This new theory of life origins gave momentum to UFO research.

Close encounters of the fourth kind are when people (almost invariably occultists and New Agers) are actually abducted and communicate with the aliens. The aliens generally give messages with deep religious impact that steer people away from Christianity.

Let's consider the following quote: "For example, 'The Urantia Book,' a tome supposedly communicated to humans by spirit dictation from 'superuniverse rulers,' spends the first two-thirds of its 2,097 pages describing a 'universe of universes' that is not subject to space and time"

The quote continues: "The last third of this UFO bible denies the full deity of Jesus Christ and humanity's need for salvation from its sinful condition." (Quoted from Lights in the Sky and Little Green Men: A Rational Christian Look at UFOs and Extraterrestials by Ross, Samples and Clark p. 122.)

It seems plain from the above quote and from abundant other evidence that the aliens oppose Christian doctrine. This leads me to believe that the aliens are actually demons.

It is also very interesting and revealing to note that many of the best UFO researchers seem to be coming around to a view that undergirds and supports the Christian view that demons are involved.

Astronomer J. Alan Hynek and the late French physicist Jacques Vallee are perhaps the most respected UFO researchers in the world. Both are agnostics. No one can consider them Christians with a theological ax to grind.

Both men have made what I consider to be very bold statements that clearly undergird the Christian position that spiritual entities are behind UFO phenomena. For example, Hynek said that UFOs cause physical effects "in the same way that a poltergeist can produce very real physical effects."

Vallee said "The UFO phenomenon represents evidence for other dimensions beyond spacetime . . . It is a spiritual system that acts on humans and uses humans."

There are many other quotes I could cite. Vallee was the leading proponent of the Interdimensional Hypothesis which is the view that UFOs come from another dimension (Christians like me would say the other dimension is the dimension of spirit) and not from interstellar travel.

Many prominent born-again Christian scholars such as David Allen Lewis have done research on UFO phenomena. It seems clear to them that demons are using UFOs to deceive millions and prepare them to embrace an occultic, 'New Age' type of faith.

Some say that UFOs and the teachings that proceed from them are preparing the world to receive the coming antichrist.

I will close this article by mentioning the fact that there have been documented cases of close encounters of the fourth kind, which are abductions of people by UFOs, that have actually been stopped when the people involved called out the name of Jesus. In other words the people appealed to the atoning work of Christ who died for our sins.

When they cried out to Jesus the demons attempting the abduction ceased their activity. The demons fear the power of Christ and must submit to the power of Christ because Christ is the Son of God. She gets up and looks out and notices 3 guys, apparently a utility crew, staring up at a telephone pole. The woman looks away and looks back out at the window to notice the 3 guys are now looking at her. The 3 guys proceed to walk towards her house and through the wall/door.

Can anyone help me out???

This is just out of curiostiy. :p Don't just put "yes" or "no," leave reasons why. By spirits, I mean any kind of spirit: angel, demon, "elementals," doppelgangers, poltergeists...anything that can classify as a "spirit," save the "human spirit."

As for myself, I don't personally believe in spirits or ghosts, but I'm not going to rule out their existence necessarily. I just don't really believe in them, but if there was concrete evidence, I might be more willing to believe in their existence.

My doors of perception were opened about six years ago through a borrowed and then lost paperback of Tom Wolfe’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. From there I got into the ’60s bands who used psychoactive drugs to expand their minds. I became intrigued by the belief that the magical substances these artists and musicians talked about would yield experiences that’d unlock the brain and help people discover their “true” selves.

It was a similar yearning for understanding that led me to the Institute of Illegal Images, located in a nondescript white two-story house on 20th Street between Mission and Capp. I first heard rumblings of a massive acid art collection from Ron Tuner at Last Gasp, and knew I had to see this place for myself.

When I arrived, I was surprised to find that the exterior of what Ron and other artists have referred to as the “LSD museum” offered few traces of the early-era psychedelia guests encounter inside. If you looked hard you could start to unlock a secret, though, noticing placards with strange slogans like “Everybody for President” and peace signs that had been covered up with white paint, hinting that you’d unwittingly climbed through the looking glass.

BLOTTED OUT

I opened the front door for my scheduled appointment with owner Mark McCloud and encountered a wall of fuzz – loud, blaring rock ’n’ roll rattled down a sun-drenched stairwell. Mark appeared first as a silhouette, then as an apparition towering over me with a beaming smile as he introduced himself.

He introduced me to the main parlor, where a massive collection of framed blotter paper hung. (Mark has over 33,000 sheets in his possession). Around the house, rock ’n’ roll ephemera, psychedelic literature, and art have become part of hallways, kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. This in part due to the grand assortment of artists that have passed through the house. More than showcasing any particular artist, though, Mark’s displays have become massive psychedelic installations.

Blotter paper lined the walls and blended into the rock posters, paintings, and random Art Deco relics. Mark explained that each framed blotter paper was meticulously numbered by the FBI a decade ago during a misinformed raid. The acid on the paper is no longer active, as the chemical is sensitive to oxygen and ultraviolet light, knowledge I gained as Mark shined a UV light onto the blotters.

GLOW WITH IT

Mark told me he first moved to San Francisco in 1971, and lived for a while at Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope studios. They met while working in the same art scene. A National Endowment for the Arts grant from Jimmy Carter allowed Mark to pursue his creative desires, so his art flourished as his collection grew. Another NEA grant, under Ronald Reagan, enabled Mark to purchase the 20th Street house in 1983, and it’s slowly evolved over the years into the psychedelic library and art house it is now.

I had come with the specific intention of photographing Mark’s ultraviolet art, and as we toured the house, Day-Glo hues caught my eye as we neared the kitchen. Under the black light, a forest of mythical creatures appeared in a rendering of San Francisco. Mark explained that over the years, the house’s inhabitants have been overtaken by visions that have caused them to use the walls as canvases.

As I took photos, Mark brought out a book that explained how the fruit Eve supposedly ate wasn’t really an apple but a psychedelic mushroom known as Amanita muscaria. Our discussion quickly digressed into the spiritual realm of sacred fruits throughout time, notably within the Huichol culture. Mark told me these Native Americans used peyote cactus in religious ceremonies, the plant being one of their principal deities. He then showed me elaborate yarn weavings made by the tribe, displayed most intricately in psychedelic colors and shapes.

PLANTING THE SEEDS

Back in the main parlor, we returned to the history of the LSD Museum. Sky Saxon of the Seeds, a mid-’60s proto-punk garage band, had once sought refuge here. Mark added that Saxon had come his way through being close with Source Family commune, which birthed the highly experimental psych-rock band Ya Ho Wa 13 of which Saxon was a member. Rock ’n’ roll history is buried deep into the foundation of this house.

Throughout the museum are artifacts referencing or paying tribute to the father of LSD, Albert Hofmann. A Swiss scientist born in 1906, Hofmann was the original tripper. He worked for the pharmaceutical company Sandozwhile experimenting with and synthesizing various chemical constituents. In 1943, while resynthesizing LSD from an earlier experiment, Hofmann accidentally absorbed a small amount through his fingertips. Throughout the house, portraits of Albert Hoffman serve as a motif; blotter papers in the entryway are emblazoned with his depiction and the phrase “The father of LSD.”

Mark talked about the litany of characters involved with LSD, including Timothy Leary, Charles Manson, and Roky Erickson. He also pointed out the abstract renderings of a melting Humpty Dumpty (in the bathroom) and a larger-than-life blotter paper Barbie poster. We agreed that people like Ron Turner of Last Gasp and places like City Lights Bookstorehelp further the culture of psychedelic exploration championed at the LSD Museum.

From the upstairs library to the themed rooms that blend together in a haze of tie-dye and leopard print, the house is a sensational journey that would jar even the most sober of minds. I saw so many displays I’d never find anywhere else – including a collection of tools that were used to press blotter papers and Mark’s blue ribbons from state fairs for his folk-art acid prints – all of which added to my understanding of psychedelic history.

I exited into the unpleasant glare of normal daylight with newfound knowledge and a different interpretation of my existence. Even a moderately tripped out and in tune person can still have their world shaken upside down, that’s probably the highest thrill of the ride, heading fearlessly into the unexpected and finding it. As I started walking away from the LSD Museum, I remembered something Mark had mentioned earlier – an old acid-head proverb that seemed both the root of the LSD movement and a core tenet of San Francisco subculture:

"To fathom hell or soar angelic just take a pinch of psychedelic."

El Chupacabra - Is it Just a Myth?

El Chupacabra - Is it Just a Myth?

El Chupacabra is a Spanish word meaning "Goat Sucker". It's name comes from the way it supposedly sucks the blood from its victims, more specifically, goats in Puerto Rico. Obviously, its name is derived from the native language from where it was first spotted. Today, claims of the large, hairless dog-looking creature have been reported in the Americas, Mexico and Puerto Rico, as far north as Maine and as far south as Chile.

The first documented reported sighting was in 1995 in Puerto Rico. In this particular attack, eight sheep were found dead, each one with three puncture wounds in their chest, and each one almost completely drained of blood. According to Wikipedia, in 1975, similar killings in the town of Moca were attributed to El Vampiro de Moca (The Vampire of Moca)*. The original belief was that these killings were the result of a satanic cult, which was rumored to be active in the area. Many more killings followed. Farmers reported the loss of livestock, each with three puncture wounds and the blood drained in the exact same manner as the first reported El Chupacabra killing. Shortly after, more reports surfaced of killings in much of the same manner from Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Bloivia, Chilia, Columbia, El Salvador, Panama, Peru, the United States and Mexico. As far as we know, there have been no human attacks by El Chupacabra. Mysteriously, traces of the killings, such as blood or tracks, have yet to be discovered.

Appearance

El Chupacabra has been described in many variations: as a hairless, dog-like, Kangaroo-like creature that stand 3-4 feet tall standing upright, as a large rodent, dog, Kangaroo type of creature, as a prehistoric dinosaur-like creature.

In at least one sighting, the El Chupacabra was reported to hop 20 feet (6 m). This variety is said to have a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue, and large fangs. It is said to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as leave behind a sulfur-like stench. When it screeches, some reports assert that the chupacabra's eyes glow an unusual red which gives the witnesses nausea.*

Another description of El Chupacabra, although not as common, describes a strange breed of wild dog. This form is mostly hairless and has a pronounced spinal ridge, unusually pronounced eye sockets, fangs, and claws. It is claimed that this breed might be an example of a dog-like reptile. Unlike conventional predators, the chupacabra is said to drain all of the animal's blood (and sometimes organs) through a single hole or two holes.*

So, do we really know what El Chupacabra looks like? Of course not. Do we even know that it really exists? Well, no. As with all paranormal, before the mainstream public believes, it would need to be dangled in front of their eyes.

My Opinion

I believe the reports of the killings are true. I believe that the puncture wounds described could be possible. I also believe that the blood could've been drained from the victims. But, I don't believe that there is some strange "Alien-like" creature running around out there.

You know, there is so much of the world that is unexplored, so much undiscovered. And personally, I do believe that there are many undiscovered creatures out there. El Chupacabra could very well be one of those undiscovered creatures. Who knows what it really looks like? I think it would probably be closely related to the cat family, more like some type of strange panther, maybe even a combination of canine/feline. Fangs aren't unusual. Razor-like incisions aren't unusual either. Blood being drained or consumed by wild animals aren't unusual. In fact, really the only unusual thing about El Chupacabra is the variations in appearance. The method of killing its victims isn't.

So lately YouTube has been FLOODED with UFO sightings from all over the world, a lot of them seem like theyre in the US tho.. A channel called "AnonymousFO" has been picking about 15 short clips (out of what they say are hundreds) and comprising them for "monthly UFO sightings" for whichever month..even satellites/telescopes in space caught some unusual activities which I still don't know if I believe or not since editing tools are so advanced nowadays but my questions are as follows: Do you believe in aliens? Do you believe these are alien crafts or new military crafts being tested out at night? ( if theyre top secret, night time would be best for testing bc if ppl were taping them and they look like UFOs then the govt wouldnt even have to explain themselves and it'd just be dismissed as nonsense/UFOs) Why the increase in sightings suddenly? If there are so many sightings taking place, why the hell aren't the whoever is operating these crafts making contact?..why would they just be flying so close that people could make out the crafts, but never stop? Please no 2012 conspiracy theories bc I won't even entertain picking you as best answer if you even mention it

"electronic voice phenomenon" that ghost hunters claim to get that are spirit voices. they also claim that it is proof bc even if was picking up on random frequencies, the answers are too on to be just coincidence. i'm just curious what the flaw is in it. is it not considered testable because it is too random? or is it something else. thanks

@atheistbassist: i've tried that lol, and i agree with you sometimes i think of something else it may be saying and sometimes i agree. the only thing that trips me out is when they get a series of answers that are on with the question asked. this could just be a hoax from them, or just a lucky evp sesh were all the electrical signals happened to match up...idk.

Using side-scan sonar, a research team found a 60-meter diameter cylinder-shaped object, with a rigid tail 400 meters long at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. I'm so mad! I just saw the movie 'Fourth Kind' with Milla Jovovich. It was about alien abductions, and they presented it as a true story with real video clips of the actual people remembering their abductions. The whole think was a lie. The company that made the movie even tried to create fake news stories so that people would believe that it was real. There might be real people out there that are abducted by aliens - imagine how they'd feel after watching this and finding out that it was totally faked. I was excited after watching the movie, but when I looked it up on Wikipedia, they explained that the whole thing was faked.

I started looking into this whole issue, and supposedly many of the people that are abducted have very similar stories, and even remembered the same details. UFOs and aliens wouldn't really be paranormal, since they're just people from other parts of the physical universe that have better vehicles and better technology. Aliens are just lumped into the paranormal category, so I just wanted to ask this question in this forum.

UFOs: If 19 Out Of 20, Therefore 20 Out Of 20

On the 26th and 27th of December 1969, the American Association for the Advancement of Science held a symposium on UFOs. The papers were edited by Carl Sagan and Thorton Page and published by Cornell University Press. One of the contributors was the late James E. McDonald*, an atmospheric physicist at the University of Arizona. McDonald's basic theme was to send a rocket up the proverbial butts of the overall scientific community for their near neglect of what he (and many laypeople) consider to be one of the top scientific anomalies of the 20th Century (and now of the 21st as well) - Unidentified Flying Objects.

Unfortunately, Dr. McDonald must surely be turning over in his grave because nothing has really changed since he presented that paper. Scientists and UFOs tend to party together in much the same way as oil and water mix.

Now any scientist with an open mind, albeit even a skeptical mind, has to acknowledge that between five and ten percent of all UFO reports remain bona fide UFO reports after investigation and analysis by those qualified to do so. Let's make life simple and say the bona fide UFO unknown rate is 5% (or 19 out of 20). Let's call these the hardcore UFOs - the residue that has been sifted out from the larger picture. Now is the hardcore UFO glass 95% empty and evaporating (if 19 out of 20 of UFOs are explainable, then 20 out of 20 are) or is the hardcore UFO glass 5% full (if 19 out of 20 are explainable, then it's just 19 out of 20 that's been explained, full stop)?

One of the main scientific arguments against UFOs being of any scientific interest is that if the substantial majority of UFO reports can be adequately explained (95%) then surely all could be if there was only sufficient information. Well, the USAF (as a typical government agency that was responsible for solving UFO sightings) had a category for 'insufficient information', as well as 'possible' this or 'probable' that. They also had a separate and apart category for 'unknowns'. That is to say, they had sufficient information regarding a UFO sighting but hadn't a clue as to what the object(s) were. That's why they were tagged as 'unknowns'. And that amounted to roughly five percent of all UFO sightings.

Okay, 19 out of 20 UFO reports prove to have prosaic explanations. Therefore the twentieth one has one as well. Sorry, the logic just isn't there. The first and most obvious argument is that the 20th UFO sighting has been singled out as being different because it is different. It's like having one green apple in a basket of 19 red apples. If all you see on the surface are red apples, that don't mean there's not a green apple buried below, yet that's what those who should know better conclude. Yet in reality you can't conclude anything about the color of the apples out of sight in the apple basket until such time as you investigate and examine the color of all the apples present.

Other examples where 19 out of 20 don't equate of necessity to 20 out of 20: If you recover from the flu nineteen times in a row, that doesn't mean you'll recover the twentieth time. If the N.Y. Yankees will nineteen baseball games in a row, that doesn't mean they'll win number twenty. If you toss a coin and it lands heads nineteen times in a row, that's no reason to believe the twentieth toss will be heads. Taking an example from real science, if 193 species of primates have fur, surely the 194th will have fur too. Alas, we're the 194th - "The Naked Ape".

Here's a bit of an experiment that helps demonstrate that the 20th case can be the odd one out. Say you want to find out if relatively nonporous solid objects sink in fresh water. So you have a large bucket of fresh water, and into that bucket you toss an ordinary coin; a lump of glass; a lump of coal; a rock; a plastic comb; a brick; a lump of gold; a diamond; a china plate; a ball bearing; some copper wire; a piece of bone; a bit of cloth; a bowling ball; a CD; some lead shot; an aluminum ingot; a large salt crystal and a clam shell. That's 19 items - they all sink, therefore you conclude that the next solid item you toss in will also sink - an ice cube. Oops; it's back to the drawing board.

Of course the reluctance of scientists to come to terms with the bona fide UFO hardcore is really an issue central to the sociology of science. In particular, the negative findings of the University of Colorado (Condon Committee) report (1968) have been cited as a decisive factor in the generally low level of interest in UFO activity among academics since that time. That's despite the fact that that report couldn't adequately explain 30% of the UFO cases it investigated. Despite that historical anomaly, UFOs for better or worse acquaint to aliens and the ETH (extraterrestrial hypothesis). There's something about aliens that translates into little green (or gray) men, fodder for the tabloids that has an overall aura as a 'silly season' filler when there's no real news around. That's not the sort of fodder scientists like to feed on.

But these UFO unknowns don't have to be of necessity something that equates to alien intelligence therefore the UFO ETH.

Okay, maybe the hardcore UFOs are time travellers from our future - that's one alternative. But then hardcore UFO unknowns aren't clustered around significant historical events that would be must sees - the bread-and-butter of that time travel industry - to tourists and historians from our future.

An early UFO ETH theory was that UFOs were actual living but non-intelligent organisms that lived in outer space but now and again would dip into our atmosphere. No biologist could actually explain how such creatures could survive, far less thrive, in the harsh conditions of outer space. So, fluffy critters from outer space without benefit of a spaceship aren't a likely option.

Some suggest that the hardcore represent some sort of totally new natural phenomena, except there's no even theoretical underpinning for new natural phenomena, and after six decades, well that's a total failure to come to terms with an easy way out of the hardcore mess. However, natural phenomena wouldn't exhibit intelligent behaviour in any event, which the hardcore UFOs do. That's why they often tend to be the hardcore. Yet, still there's this observation about one UFO case studied by the University of Colorado under government contract to the USAF, headed by Dr. Edward Condon. The Condon Report, as it became known had this to say: "...this unusual sighting should therefore be assigned to the category of some almost certainly natural phenomenon, which is so rare that it apparently has never been reported before or since." You'd think that would whet the appetite of any scientist eager to make a major discovery that leads to the road to Stockholm (and a Nobel Prize). Apparently that's just not the case. Hardcore UFO sightings, even as an apparent natural phenomenon are taboo.

Regardless, ET, space critters, time travellers, unknown natural phenomena, whatever, scientists cannot claim the hardcore UFO issue settled while those unknowns remain. They are derelict in their duty by ignoring them, hoping they'll just 'go away'. It's not good enough for scientists to say 'if 19 out of 20, therefore 20 out of 20, and go on their merry way washing their hands of the otherwise reality that that logic is faulty. They need to prove that assertion, not ignore it. Translated, they've got to put up or shut up.

Some might claim that it's the alleged nature of the unknowns as claimed by the believers that puts the onus on them to prove their case. That would be so if they claimed the hardcore UFO unknowns were proof that UFOs were piloted by ET. However, while a few sprout that line (and if they do they should put up or shut up), a majority of pro-UFO people, believers if you will, just point to the unknowns as evidence (not proof - evidence and proof are two different things) that supports the UFO ETH. Unfortunately, if the UFO ETH is really true, proof of that tends to be out of the hands of the believers since if ET doesn't want to be caught out, he/she/it won't be - that's the advantage of having advanced intelligence. You outsmart lesser intelligence. So the lesser intelligence needs the cooperation (or an unintended slipup - Roswell?) of the greater alien intelligence, and we're not getting it. Of course if there is really no ET associated with the hardcore UFO residue, then that explains that.

But nearly all UFO believers just really believe that there's a case to be answered for that lone 20th hardcore UFO event, regardless of what the explanation turns out to be. And the best people to find out that explanation(s) are scientists, yet scientists ignore the challenge as they did in Dr. McDonald's day; as they continue to do well into the 21st Century.
