Types Of Hauntings

Types Of Hauntings

While there are many different kinds of hauntings that can take place, we generally find that there are 4 which stand above the rest. We will now go over these and go a little in depth with each of them.

Residual
A residual haunting is a haunting in which the being(s) involved are repeating a moment of time. This could be the moments before their death or something else in their life all together. The idea behind this is residual hauntings are nothing more than a memory imprint often left in the environment itself. There have even been cases where you are dealing with both a residual and intelligent being that are one in the same. Though the spirit is not actually there the energy is and can still have a 'cause and effect' on the living.

Intelligent
This is another very common style of haunting. An intelligent haunting is one where the spirit is there, very aware, and even interactive with the living. These generally involve 'unfinished business' where they may be looking for someone or help with a situation. These hauntings can also cause some havoc such as banging, foot steps, and moving objects though not as affectively as poltergeist.

Poltergeist
This haunting is a malevolent one that we often find attached to the living. This attachment usually comes during some emotional or large physical change in the person they are with and generally involves young girls though this isn't always the case. While there are many varying factors to this haunting, we do find that many have similarities. The rate and power that it interacts with its surrounding is one key factor. General human spirits can do this too but poltergeist do it at a larger and stronger rate.
*note* poltergeist hauntings are often confused with demonic hauntings.

Demonic
Demons come in many varying forms and can be quite hard to identify. They are also rare. A demons purpose on earth is to break down the will of the person or people it has targeted to make way for possession. Common signs of demons is the smell of sulfur and often times there are other spirits in the location. We are unsure if they are being forced or trapped there but we have noticed this to be a semi-common occurrence. We also find that they are very noisy, much like poltergeist. Many other signs are that of standard hauntings. Hence their being hard to identify.
