What does religious text say about ghosts?

Question by Wife2Pisces & Mom2VirgoNCancer: What does religious text say about ghosts?
What does religious texts say about haunting and spirits. I am very confused as to why a loving creator ( if one exists) would allow the soul of a child or innocent person killed in a traumatic manner to roam the earth such as what you see in "hauntings" Could those ghosts be fallen angels ? ( Fallen angels masquerading as spirits ?) I just don't understand EVPs of young children, and why a loving god would allow for innocent lives to stay here on earth. What does religious texts ( of all faiths) say about hauntings... and are we supposed to dabble with it.

  2. In India the word ghost means is bhoot which never exist, the other word is Praet means the one who got killed in traumatic manner and the other is Pishach which lives in old places and somehow has his own conditions, he had a wish to stay here at the same place after death.
