Chilean Navy Release Stunning UFO Footage

An exceptional nine-minute Navy video of a UFO displaying highly unusual behavior, studied by Chilean authorities for the last two years, is now being released to the public. The CEFAA - the Chilean government agency which investigates UFOs, or UAP (unidentified aerial phenomena), has been in charge of the investigation. Located within the DGAC, the equivalent of our FAA but under the jurisdiction of the Chilean Air Force, CEFAA has committees of military experts, technicians and academics from many disciplines. None of them have been able to explain the strange flying object captured by two experienced Navy officers from a helicopter.

The Chilean government agency always makes its cases public when an investigation is complete, and acknowledges the existence of UAP when a case merits such a conclusion.

General Ricardo Bermúdez, Director of CEFAA during the investigation, told me that “We do not know what it was, but we do know what it was not.” And “what it is not” comprises a long list of conventional explanations.

When Soviet scientists discovered a cache of oil reserves near the town of Derweze in the Karakum Desert, drilling quickly commenced. When a drilling rig collapsed and created a crater, large amounts of methane were released. When the oilmen attempted to burn off the methane, it started a fire that still burns over forty years later."

The Lake That Turns Animals into Ghostly Statues

Approaching the shoreline of Lake Natron in Tanzania, photographer Nick Brandt faced an eerie sight: There, lying on the earth as still and stiff as statues, were calcified corpses of a variety of birds and bats that had met their untimely demise after crashing into the deadly waters.

"No one knows for certain exactly how [these animals] die, but it appears that the extreme reflective nature of the lake’s surface confuses them, causing them to crash into the lake," Brandt writes in his new photo book Across the Ravaged Land. "The water has an extremely high soda and salt content, so high that it would strip the ink off my Kodak film boxes within a few seconds. The soda and salt causes the creatures to calcify, perfectly preserved, as they dry."

Alberta Mountie Captures Meteor on Dashboard Camera

A community astronomer at the Telus World of Science confirmed that the sighting was in fact a meteor.

FBI releases UFO memo from 1950

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has released a memo on a widely talked about potential UFO sighting in Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947.

The original file, written by Guy Hottel--the head of the FBI’s Washington office at the time--was written on March 22, 1950. It was first released to the public in the late 1970s, and has now been posted on the FBI's vault website.

The original file states, “An investigator for the Air Force stated that three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico. They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall, dressed in metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed fliers and test pilots.”
This week the FBI released a memo about the facts behind the potential UFO sighting.

The FBI states, “The Hottel memo does not prove the existence of UFOs; it is simply a second- or third-hand claim that we never investigated. Some people believe the memo repeats a hoax that was circulating at that time, but the Bureau’s files have no information to verify that theory.”
The file is the most popular document read on the FBI website. The file is only one page, and the FBI never even followed up on the event.

Q&A: Spontaneous combustion?

Question by Malachi: Spontaneous combustion?
One wonders if we continue to stroke TR's ego enough and said swelling head continues to grow...will TR spontaneously combust?

Would this be an "unexplained paranormal phenomenon" or could this indeed be explained away by scientific fact?

My own view is one of practical faith. I once had a man tell me that "God was going to strike him down for sinning...." as I was looking for a little more clarification, I consulted my physically challenged friends -- the response I received was a vision of the man standing before me; then *poof* all that was left were some smoking boots and I heard a snicker.

I took took this to mean "If *God* wanted to strike him down; he'd of done it already." So logic tells me that it is more likely a chemical response rather than a Divine Intervention...'cuz knowing the Powers That Be, as I do -- over half us would have blown up by now.
Interesting,I would have never thought Kundalini energy would be brought up as a consideration for spontaneous combustion...but I could see where people might think so; my tummy has gotten warm before.

No Joke, I have dreams about things that not too far into the future happen. Never anything earth-shattering...just small moments in time that happen to me. And when they do, i can clearly remember dreaming that, that exact moment happened! What the hell, right? I don't consider myself psychic by any means, I feel that this is something everyone can do..or that it's an ability everyone has access to but doesn't realize. In high school, i asked my psychology teacher about de ja vu and he said that it's an "unexplained phenomenon". I'm just looking for a more elaborate answer... cuz it's rare that i remember my dreams at all, and for the things i do remember to actually happen!?!? Anyway, I'm rambling now... if anyone has anything, please let me know....Thanks!

Experiences of the Paranormal

Whenever I bring up the topic of the paranormal in a small group I invariably find someone who's had some kind of strange experience. Taken together, these accounts provide overwhelming evidence for the existence of a reality beyond that perceived by our senses. I've had a few such incidents myself, some of which I recount here.

I

The day my grandmother passed away I felt particularly lonely, isolated and depressed. We had been particularly close and she had been like a second mother to me. That evening, around 10pm, I was staring aimlessly out of the window, wondering where life would take me next. I saw a red circle of light, as might come from a laser-pointer, flitting around on the house opposite. It lasted only a few seconds. A minute or so later I saw the same thing again.

I have no idea where the light came from. It was raining outside and I couldn't see or hear anyone in the street. I know it didn't come from my house. And there was nothing tall behind my house from which it could have come. If it came from any of the neighboring houses why did the person responsible angle the light at the house directly opposite mine and at no other?

Even if there were a "natural" explanation for the light it would still feel like a sign from my grandmother that I should have seen it at just that moment as I have never seen such a light before or since.

I often find my dreams resonate with trivial events that happen shortly after, here's just a few examples of many:

a) One Wednesday I had a dream I was in the lottery store, deciding how many lines to play. The same day I had a minor win on the lottery (odds about 25 to 1).

b) I take a regular medication, but don't give it much thought. I dreamed I was taking the medication but it looked or tasted different. Next day I picked up a repeat prescription, the medication came in different packaging than usual.

c) I dreamed about the birth of a baby (something I've never dreamed before or since!), next day I heard of a pregnancy.

d) I dreamed of some toddlers playing, one runs towards the stairs. The following day I learned my daughter had been playing on the beach and saw a small child run away from family and was about to jump onto the beach from a height.

The same phenomena was described by J.W. Dunne in his 1927 classic "An Experiment with Time".

when u click on the "doodle" it bring u to the "unexplained phenomenon" link. recently Google tweeted something odd, "1.12.12.25.15.21.18.15.1.18.5.25.12.15.14.7.20.15.19.15.21.19." I guess it translated to "all your o belong to us," referring to the "o" in the doodle.
