The Greatest Ufo Conference Abduction Stories

The Greatest Ufo Conference Abduction Stories

While there are many dozens of alien abduction reports from around the world, this article mentions the two best ones which I heard at a ufo conference recently.

The 1961 UFO abduction of Betty and Barney Hill gained worldwide interest because of the book and movie "The Interrupted Journey" and an appearance at a ufo conference. After their encounter, the couple had problems sleeping and it wasn't until they had hypnosis therapy that the true nature of their experience was revealed. As they retold their experience during the regression hypnosis sessions, the therapist tried to seek mundane explanations for their encounter but both of the Hills recounted the same experience and could not be moved from their alien abduction story. Their hypnotic therapist was in shock as they described the small alien beings that had led them from their vehicle and into the UFO. While both of the Hills recalled the same incident, the emotional effects was quite different for each person.

It was Betty Hill who was most intrigued by her encounter and remembered asking her alien hosts which star system they had come from. They showed her and she drew a map of their star system under hypnosis. This was easily dismissed at the time as being pure imagination. It wasn't until about 30 years later that an astronomer claimed at a ufo conference to have found the star system which Betty Hill had drawn. He named Zeta Reticuli as the system which the beings had come from. The system does not however match Betty's drawing exactly and is therefore dubious. Barney Hill had a much more unpleasant encounter than his wife. He was terrified of the alien beings and of their invasive "medical" tests. Throughout his hypnotic description, he wanted only to get away from these strange beings.

The Betty and Barney hill abduction was the first alien abduction case to gain national fame and even after 50 years remains in my view as the most fascinating ufo conference case of them all. The second famous alien abduction encounter which I often hear told at the ufo conference is the case of Travis Walton.

In November 1975, Travis and his logging crew were heading back home from working in the forest when a very brightly UFO appeared over the trees. Travis got out to get a closer look and ended up being right under the UFO. His friends yelled at him to get back into the truck but before he could he was hit by a turquoise beam which came from the underneath of the craft. In panic, they floored the truck and left the scene in a hurry. After a few minutes they regained their composure and when they came back, Travis had gone. Travis recalled this part of the experience at a ufo conference in the 1990s and the tension in the air was amazing.

For a full five days, Travis's friends were under scrutiny. They all agreed to take lie-detector tests and were interviewed for many hours but none of them changed their story. The police were convinced that Travis had been murdered because he was dating a mate's sister. The police's murder theory was squashed when Travis suddenly called home from a telephone box at a petrol station and asked him family to come and pick him up. He kept talking about beings with big eyes on the way to his parent's house. Travis thought that only a few hours had passed and was surprised to hear that he had been missing for five days. He hadn't shaved for days and was a lot lighter. His hypnotic regression session included his experience aboard a spaceship that included both the archetypal small grey beings who were about five foot tall, and human like beings who refused to communicate with him but motioned for him to follow them. An oxygen mask was placed over his face, and Travis said he passed out. When he came around, the craft was in the air over the roadway near the service station, and when it headed off, he rang for his brother to come.

One of the most amazing features of Travis Walton's encounter and one which was apparent at a recent ufo conference, is the personality changes of both Travis and his brother in law, Mike Rogers. Travis now talks much more quietly than he did. He doesn't appear to object if the public have doubts about what occurred to him. His previously quiet friend, Mike Rogers, is now the person upset by those who rubbish Travis's claims. Neither Travis or Mike have ever amended their witness statements of that famous evening and close encounter on that forest road.

Travis Walton took a polygraph test after the book and movie "Fire in the Sky" were produced and he passed with flying colours just as his crew had passed their polygraphs when Travis was missing for five days. What is the truth about Travis Walton? We only know what he really believes happened to him, and don't forget that there were many witnesses to the incident. Walton used to appear quite often at our ufo conference and and quite simply he says you either believe him or you don't. I'll leave it at that.
